Pipette tips, as consumables used with pipettes, can generally be divided into: standard tips, cartridge tips and low-absorbency tips, depending on the application.
    1. Standard tips are the most widely used tips and can be used for almost all pipetting operations.
    2. Cartridge tips are designed to avoid cross-contamination. The sample removed by the cartridge tip cannot enter the interior of the pipette, thus protecting the pipette components from contamination and corrosion and, more importantly, ensuring that there is no cross-contamination between samples.
    3. For experiments with high sensitivity, or for precious samples or reagents that are prone to residues, low adsorption tips can be selected to improve recovery. The hydrophobic treatment of the surface of the low adsorption tips reduces the surface tension of liquids left in the tips.

    How to choose Pipette Tips

When choosing pipette tips, consider the following factors:

Compatibility: Make sure the tips are compatible with the pipette you're using.

Volume range: Choose a tip that can handle the volume range you need to dispense.

Accuracy and precision: Look for tips that offer accurate and precise dispensing, especially if you're working with valuable or delicate samples.

Sterilization: Consider whether you need sterilized tips for your application.

Tip material: Choose a tip material that is appropriate for your sample and application, such as a low-retention tip for viscous liquids or a filter tip for aerosols.

Tip packaging: Consider whether you need tips that are pre-sterilized, pre-packed, or come in bulk.

    Advantages of Pipette Tips

Pipette tips offer several advantages, including:

Improved accuracy and precision: Tips ensure consistent and accurate dispensing of liquids, reducing the risk of contamination or error.

Enhanced sample protection: Tips can help protect delicate or valuable samples from contamination or evaporation.

Increased efficiency: Tips can reduce the time required for dispensing and minimize the risk of repetitive strain injury.

Improved safety: Tips can reduce the risk of exposure to hazardous chemicals or biohazards, especially when working with sterile or pathogenic samples.

Reduced cost: Tips can be more cost-effective compared to disposable pipettes and can minimize the need for frequent recalibration.

Increased convenience: Tips are easy to use and can be disposed of after each use, reducing the need for cleaning and sterilization of the pipette.
