Analysis of the Problems and Countermeasures in the Use of Centrifuges in Colleges and Universities

Centrifuge has become one of the necessary instruments and equipment for teaching and scientific research in various disciplines in colleges and universities. Whether it can be used and managed scientifically will directly affect its life and the normal progress of teaching and scientific research. This paper analyzes the current situation and common problems of the use of centrifuges in colleges and universities, and puts forward some scientific management methods for the use and maintenance of centrifuges in combination with the actual work .
Master the basic information of the equipment. The centrifuge is divided into two types: freezing and non-freezing. The operation mode is different, and the precautions are also different. For example, in general, the freezing type will start to cool, and the non-freezing type will automatically open the cover after separation. For different models, there can be different operation panels, different display panels, and different operation modes. As the user, it is necessary to pay attention to the possible differences in operation caused by its characteristics, so as to pay attention to installation during installation, and make various targeted tests for its differences during commissioning, so as to avoid various hidden dangers as far as possible.
1、 Pay attention to balance
When using various centrifuges, the centrifuge tube and its contents must be accurately balanced on the balance in advance. When balancing, the weight difference should not exceed the range specified in the instructions of each centrifuge. Each centrifuge has its own allowable difference for different rotating heads. The rotating head must not be loaded with single number of tubes. When the rotating head is only partially loaded, the tubes must be placed symmetrically in the rotating head, So that the load is evenly distributed around the rotating head.
2、 The rotor instructions should be read carefully
When each rotary head has its maximum allowable speed and cumulative limit of use, consult the instructions when using the rotary head, and do not use it too fast. Each swivel shall have a use file to record the accumulated use time. If the maximum use limit of the swivel is exceeded, it shall be used at a reduced speed as required.
3、 Precool if necessary
When centrifuging at a temperature below room temperature. The rotating head shall be placed in the refrigerator or the rotating head room of the centrifuge for pre-cooling before use.
4、 Don't leave after startup
Do not leave at will during centrifugation. Observe whether the instruments on the centrifuge work normally at any time. If there is any abnormal sound, stop the machine immediately to check and remove the fault in time.
5、 The centrifuge operating instructions should be read carefully
When loading the solution, it should be carried out according to the specific operating instructions of various centrifuges, and select the appropriate centrifuge tube according to the nature and volume of the liquid to be centrifuged. Some centrifuge tubes have no cover, and the liquid should not be loaded too much to prevent it from being thrown out during centrifugation, resulting in imbalance, rust or corrosion of the rotating head. However, the centrifuge tube of the preparative overspeed centrifuge often requires that the liquid be filled up to avoid the deformation of the upper part of the plastic centrifuge tube during centrifugation. After each use, the rotating head must be carefully checked, cleaned and dried in time. The rotating head is a key part of the centrifuge that needs to be protected. When moving it, be careful not to collide and avoid causing scars. When the rotating head is not used for a long time, it should be coated with a layer of polish for protection. It is strictly prohibited to use significantly deformed, damaged or aged centrifuge tubes.
